(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 2 - Edoardo Molinari, the older brother of
2018 Open winner Francesco, Italy's only ever major winner, got
off to a bright start in the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in the
UAE Thursday.
With a round of 66 (-6), the elder Molinari is second, two shots
behind leader Ryo Hisatsune of Japan.
Italian No. 1 Guido Migliozzi lies 53rd with a one under par 71.
Turin born Molinari shares second spot with Dane Rasmus Hojgaard
and England's Matthew Baldwin.
Hisatsune, 20, the world mo 210, was the only player who bested
them with a round comprising nine birdies and a bogey.
Edoardo Molinari, 41, will be one of Luke Donald's vice captains
at the Ryder Cup in Rome this autumn.
His 40-year-old brother Francesco, who had a great Ryder Cup in
2018, is aiming to be on the team again. (ANSA).
